The story
A war, a plague and years of people leaving broke the kingdom. You stayed. Now you rebuild it, one place at a time.
Before
There was a kingdom here. Its roads went somewhere, its market was busy, and its forge never went cold. It was not a golden age. It was ordinary, and that is what people miss most.
What went wrong
The war came first, about ten years ago, and nobody won it. It took the smiths, then the harvests, then the young. It burned the watchtower, emptied the armoury and broke the capital's gates. Some of the fighters are still out on the old roads.
The plague came next. It closed the chapel, filled the sick house, and made everyone afraid of a cough. The healers who survived ran away, but their books stayed behind.
People leaving did the most damage. Wagons left and did not come back. The mill filled with mud, the looms stopped, the quarry fell in, and the forest grew back over the fields.
You
You are nobody special. You are not a hero or a soldier. You are a survivor with a ruined home, two hands, and the belief that this valley is not finished. Nobody is coming to help, at first. Every skill you have, you earn by doing the work.
The work
Rebuilding is slow and practical: clean water, a working forge, cut stone, baked bread, safe roads. Each place you rebuild brings people back, like a miller or a weaver. They open new work for you, but they never do your work for you. The wild land fights back: wolves in the woods, the restless dead in the old tombs, ogres in the hills, and the last warlord in his camp.
How it ends
The game has a real ending, and nothing ever starts over. When every main place is rebuilt and the kingdom can look after itself, the story is done. After that you can keep playing toward 100%: every skill at 99, every mastery at 99, and every item collected.
